‘Hybrid Beings’ A Poem by Fortune Omosola

Hybrid Beings

These hybrid beings,
are unsweetened,
salty egrets layering.

Are we in death, deceiving,

or beings in mock, afraid?
From what grand order are we receiving,
to what judgment are we set ablaze?

For what burden do we bear this pain
that so seldom passes,
rationed for an infinite temper,
half-full, half-empty earthen glasses,
bearing rage and a reaper?

For we are to do,
to cast, to bind,
to find, to fill,
to create for destruction,

foreboding in the place of prayer,
believing, testing, stressing,
sensing danger with every breath.

For what?

A score, or a lifetime away from here?

F.Omosola ( 6th Pyramid:2025 )

*What is the purpose of human existence if suffering, creation, and destruction are so intertwined?
