Rashford Fires Barcelona to La Liga Glory Against Real Madrid

He is on loan but now has a title, one he delivered in a fashionable spectacle.

On-loan Marcus Rashford inspired FC Barcelona to the La Liga title after scoring a brilliant free-kick in a decisive victory over fierce rivals Real Madrid in El Clasico.

Barcelona secured their 29th Spanish league title with three matches still left in the season following a dominant display at the Nou Camp under manager Hansi Flick.

Rashford opened the scoring with a sensational early free-kick that curled beyond Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois despite the Belgian getting a slight touch on the ball.

Ferran Torres later doubled Barcelona’s advantage after a slick attacking move initiated by Dani Olmo, helping the Catalan giants cruise toward the title-clinching win.

Both Rashford and Torres reportedly dedicated their goals to Flick, whose father passed away earlier in the week, by running toward the Barcelona coach during celebrations.

The victory extended Barcelona’s remarkable winning streak in La Liga to 11 matches and moved them 14 points clear of Real Madrid with only three games remaining, making their lead mathematically unassailable.

Barcelona’s dominance at home also played a major role in their title triumph, with the club winning all 18 league matches played in front of their supporters this season.

For Rashford, currently on loan from Manchester United, the performance marked another major statement in what has been a rejuvenated spell in Spain.

Real Madrid, managed by Alvaro Arbeloa, struggled to respond despite featuring Aurelien Tchouameni, who had reportedly been involved in a training-ground altercation with teammate Federico Valverde earlier in the week.

Valverde missed the encounter after reportedly suffering a concussion during the incident.

Rashford nearly added a second goal later in the game but was denied by an impressive save from Courtois as Barcelona celebrated another historic league triumph.

“If I was a magician, I’ll stay at Barcelona, but let’s see how it goes” the on-loan Rashford said.
