There were guesses but only Critiano Ronaldo knew when. Now, it’s all done as the superstar footballer has finally tied the knot with his longterm girlfriend, Georgina Rodríguez. Doing it his way.
It was a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal.
The couple exchanged vows on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in what was described as a “private and intimate moment” attended by their five children.
Ronaldo and Rodríguez have been together for nearly a decade, having first met in 2017 at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodríguez was working as a sales assistant. Ronaldo was playing for Spanish giants Real Madrid at the time.
The couple made their relationship public later that year and have since built a family together.
They announced their engagement on August 11, 2025, with Rodríguez sharing a photograph of her large engagement ring on social media.
“Yes I do. In this and in all my lives,” she wrote in her native Spanish.
Ronaldo subsequently marked their wedding day by posting a photograph of the couple’s hands showing their wedding bands, accompanied by the simple caption: “C❤️G.”
The couple share five children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo, daughter Alana and daughter Bella. Ronaldo is also father to 16-year-old Cristiano Jr., whom he welcomed from a previous relationship.
The marriage adds a new chapter to one of football’s most closely followed celebrity relationships, which has developed alongside Ronaldo’s record-breaking career.
The 41-year-old Portuguese forward has scored nearly 1,000 goals during a career that has taken him from Sporting in Lisbon to Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, while also becoming Portugal’s most prominent international footballer.
Ronaldo recently featured in his sixth World Cup, setting a record for appearances at the men’s tournament finals. He shares that record with Argentina captain Lionel Messi.
