Nigerian sprint hurdler Tobi Amusan delivered another impressive performance on the Diamond League circuit, equalling her season’s best time of 12.28 seconds to claim victory in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Sunday.
The world record holder surged to the finish ahead of American duo Grace Stark and Alaysha Johnson, who finished second and third respectively in 12.38 seconds and 12.39 seconds.
Amusan had to overcome an early challenge from Dutch athlete Nadine Visser, who burst into the lead after the start. However, the Nigerian gradually closed the gap before producing a powerful finish to pull away from the field and secure a convincing victory.
The winning time matched Amusan’s fastest performance of the season and marked the third occasion she has clocked 12.28 seconds this year, having posted identical times at the Xiamen and Rabat Diamond League meetings in May.
Sunday’s triumph was also her second Diamond League victory of the 2026 campaign after her success in Rabat. Earlier this month, she also claimed top honours at the New Taipei City Athletics Open, further underlining her impressive form.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed a strong season since successfully defending her African title for a fourth consecutive time, steadily building momentum as she prepares for the Diamond League final and the Commonwealth Games later this year.
