Prime Minister, Keir Starmer has condemned the violent anti-immigration protests that erupted in several cities across the United Kingdom, promising that those responsible will face the full force of the law.

In a stern address delivered recently, Starmer labeled the unrest as “organized violent thuggery” and vowed that arrests would be made.

“We will come tough against these hooligans”

According to Thecable.ng, Starmer emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring that justice is served.

He asserted: “This kind of organized violent thuggery will not be tolerated. Those who took part in these protests will be identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law”.

Recall that the demonstrations escalated over the weekend following a tragic knife attack at a dance school event in Southport on July 29, which left three young girls dead and eight other children injured. The attack occurred during a Taylor Swift-themed event at the school, sending shockwaves across the nation.

According to Thecable.ng, the riots began the following day as misinformation spread that the suspected attacker was an immigrant and a radical Islamist.

This false narrative fueled anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim sentiments, leading to violent protests.
