Nigeria to Launch Three-in-One Identity Card by August

Nigerians will soon benefit from the services of a proposed three-in-one identity card, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has confirmed.

This single multipurpose card, which combines functions of identity verification, financial transactions, and social services, will be made available to citizens across the country by August this year.

A high-ranking member of the implementation team confirmed that the commission has been working tirelessly to meet its goals, with the plan remaining on track for a launch in the upcoming months.

The official said: “We actually plan for July although there have been a few delays but we are still hopeful that it would come in July. So we are hoping to get it done between July and August. We are still on plan and if there is any shift, the public will know,”

Currently, the commission is in the testing and deployment stage.  The NIMC remains optimistic about meeting the projected timeline, ensuring that Nigerians will soon have access to the innovative three-in-one identity card.
