A top recycling firm in Ogun State, Neveah Limited has launched a state-of-the-art recycling facility in Ogun State, promising to create thousands of jobs and position Nigeria as a key player in the global raw materials supply chain.
The company, which specializes in copper and aluminium recycling, announced that the plant’s first production run marks a major milestone in its operations.
The Executive Officer of Neveah, Ibidapo Lawal mentioned the transformative potential of the project during a briefing on Tuesday.
“This milestone is more than just production—it’s a glimpse into our future,” Lawal said. “The recycling plant, a multi-billion Naira investment, is designed to process over 44,000 metric tons of aluminium and copper annually, generate over $150 million in export revenue, create 500 direct jobs and over 6,000 indirect jobs, and reduce carbon emissions by more than 377,000 tons every year.”
According to the company, these figures are not just projections but a reflection of Neveah’s commitment to sustainable development. The project also aims to significantly address the issue of youth unemployment, a persistent concern in Ogun and other parts of Nigeria.
Lawal explained that the plant represents a strategic investment in Nigeria’s green industrial future. “We are not just recycling; we are redefining how Africa contributes to the global circular economy,” he said.
As full-scale operations commence, Neveah’s facility is expected to serve as a model for environmentally responsible industrialization in West Africa. It also aligns closely with Nigeria’s national goals of fostering industrial growth while mitigating environmental degradation.
The firm further revealed that the plant’s output meets international purity standards, making it suitable for export and a potential foreign exchange earner.
With export revenue projections topping $150 million, the initiative could become a cornerstone of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s non-oil sectors.
