Google has rolled out the 2025 edition of its AI-focused startup accelerator program in Africa, targeting early-stage tech firms with game-changing solutions and offering up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits.
The program, announced on Thursday, is designed for seed-to-Series A startups with live products and at least one founder of African descent. Participating startups must also demonstrate a commitment to building AI solutions responsibly.
Selected companies will benefit from expert mentorship, access to a global investor and partner network, and intensive workshops on technology, AI implementation, product strategy, and leadership.
“Startups are Africa’s problem solvers. With the right resources, they can scale their impact far beyond local communities,” said Folarin Aiyegbusi, Head of Startup Ecosystem, Africa at Google.
The accelerator has already supported innovative companies like Crop2Cash, a West African agritech startup using AI to connect smallholder farmers with financial tools and credit, helping unlock new economic opportunities for underserved communities.
Since 2018, Google’s initiative has empowered 140 startups across 17 African countries, resulting in over $300 million in funding and the creation of more than 3,000 jobs.
