The Ekiti State Government has inaugurated a 13-member team to oversee the development of hockey in the state, with Hon. Tayo Olajubu leading as chairman.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti and was attended by government representatives and sports stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, the Special Assistant to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Sports Development, Mr. Tunde Adesanya, expressed confidence in the newly appointed officials. He urged them to bring their expertise and dedication to advancing hockey in the state.
In his remarks, Chairman Hon. Tayo Olajubu reaffirmed the association’s commitment to improving the sport’s development and ensuring Ekiti becomes a stronghold for hockey.
He praised Governor Oyebanji’s administration for prioritizing sports under the guidance of technical advisor Dr. Olusola Osetoba and pledged to justify the trust placed in the new leadership.
The newly inaugurated officials include Eng. Folarin Jayeola as Patron, Mr. Ayodeji Olowolafe as Secretary, Hon. (Mrs.) Olayemi Ademiloye, Mr. Akinweye Ismail, Mrs. Alade Adunni, Mrs. Orolu Adenike, Mr. Fowobaje Tosin, Mr. Asaba James, Fajembola Oluwole, Mr. Bello Mustapha, Coach Adelusi Sunday, and renowned sports broadcaster Dayo Olujobi of Adamimogo FM as Media Officer.
With the new leadership in place, the Ekiti Hockey Association is set to embark on initiatives aimed at talent development, grassroots promotion, and raising the profile of the sport within the state.
