The TotalEnergies art house exhibition that was organized recently was such a spectacle for atistic expression and environmental consciousness. It was one to behold.
This three-day event provided a canvas to celebrate the innate talent of budding artists and also champion the vital message of sustainability through the lens of Sustainab’ALL, a defining moment for TotalEnergies.
Unlocking Artistic Potential
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Open House Art Exhibition serves as a beacon for unearthing latent artistic brilliance among young Nigerians.
The theme, “Sustainability at the heart of our operations,” serves as both a guiding principle and a canvas for creative exploration.
Deputy Managing Director, Deep Assets, Engr. Victor Bandele, during his engaging conversations with the artists, imparts invaluable advice. He encourages them not to rest on their laurels, emphasizing the importance of capacity development, networking, and continuous self-exposure.
Also, In an enlightening interview, the acting General Manager Corporate Social Responsibility, Tonye Osifo shares the profound commitment to biodiversity.
She affirms that sustainability and the environment are key to TotalEnergies.
“Last year was the maiden edition. We had one sustainability artist. This year, we have three sustainability artists. The whole idea is to give platform to the young creative to showcase their talents. We don’t exhibit established artists. It’s only the younger ones in school. We have students from University of Lagos and Yaba College of Technology. Ten students from University of Lagos and ten from Yaba College of Technology.”
The core message echoes the mantra of ‘reuse, recycle, and reduce as TotalEnergies actively seeks artists who can convey this message through their creations.
This year’s exhibition features twenty students—ten each from the University of Lagos and Yaba College of Technology.
Beyond the exhibition’s artistic display, it also serves as an inclusive space.
TotalEnergies extends an invitation not only to its members but also to their children, encouraging them to try their hand at painting. It becomes a moment for families to bond creatively and foster a deeper connection.

The Open House Art Exhibition is just one facet of TotalEnergies’ steadfast commitment to the SDGs. With a vision to produce more energy with fewer emissions, the brand is reshaping the narrative around sustainability.
An exemplary initiative is the NNPCL/TotalEnergies Pilot Plastic Recycling Plant in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
This sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility project, in collaboration with NNPC Limited and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), is designed to recycle over 1,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually. By doing so, it saves over 750 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year—equivalent to the volume removed by planting over 4,500 trees.
