The Bet9ja Foundation U-20 Football Competition will kick off this afternoon with an interesting clash between BestLegs FC taking on Ekiti Queens FC feeders, in an encounter expected to attract football enthusiasts across the state.
The tournament which is meant to empower young female football talent, promises weeks of exciting competition in Ekiti State. Just as the Organizers anticipate intense competition as the athletes showcase their skills and potential.
Recall that the six teams participating in the tournament were divided into two groups. Group A includes Best Legs FC (Ijero Ekiti), Ekiti Queens FC Feeders, and Alpine Dazzlers FC. Group B features EKSU Lionesses FC, Golden Queens FC (Ado Ekiti), and FUOYE Dazzlers Queens. Each group will compete in a round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the knockout rounds.
According to Director of the competition, Pelumi Abiara, the program is about providing young women a platform to compete and access mentorship and growth opportunities.
“We’re proud to support women’s football development and inspire the next generation of female leaders from Ekiti using football.” He stated.
