Academic Excellence Comes With Unsual Rewards In Ekiti

A Senator in Ekiti State, Cyril Fasuyi has gone three steps ahead to reward academic excellence in his state. This lends credence to the yearnings among doyens that politicians should strive to recognize shining lights in their domains.

The senator who currently serves Ekiti North district in the 10th National Assembly, is leading by example to applaud and support academic brilliance.

The distinguished senator in a heart warming move awarded a commendable cash prize of N250,000 each to Ekiti’s standout scholars, Oore-Ofe Ojo Lanre and Ojo Olabode Johnson, symbolizing the value placed on education and fostering a culture of excellence.

Senator Fasuyi expressed his pride in these exceptional students, emphasizing their role as shining examples for the entire Ekiti community.

He exclaims:

“I am so proud of them that they did us proud in Ekiti, I am so proud of them that they are good examples for others to follow,”

Beyond the monetary recognition, the senator highlighted the broader significance of encouraging and celebrating academic accomplishments saying it would encourage others to do more with their academics.

Senator Fasuyi stressed the pivotal role of education in personal and societal success.

“Education is paramount, education is the key to success,” he affirmed, underscoring the transformative power of knowledge.

Ojo Olabode Johnson, originating from Esun Ekiti, Ikole, achieved an impressive 5.00 CGPA at the University of Lagos (Unilag) in MSc Metallurgy and Materials, securing his position as the Best Graduating Student.

On the other hand, Oore-Ofe Ojo-Lanre, a proud native of Usi Ekiti in Ekiti North Senatorial District, claimed the title of Best Female Graduating Student from Dominion University in Oyo state.

Graduating with First-Class (Honors) in Mass Communications and a remarkable 4.86 GPA, Ojo-Lanre’s achievement was further lauded as she was announced as the best female graduating student of the maiden graduating set of Dominion University, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, at the young age of 20.

Senator Fasuyi’s gesture stands as a testament to the belief that investing in education is an investment in the future prosperity of Ekiti State.
