Countries With Open Arms For Dependants

Choosing to study abroad often entails leaving behind one’s spouse, husband, and family, prompting many to postpone their study abroad aspirations.

However, the good news is that not all countries impose such limitations. Several countries offer dependent visas that permit individuals to bring their spouses and families along. These dependent visas alleviate the stress and emotional burden of departing without loved ones, providing a more inclusive opportunity for pursuing academic endeavors abroad.

While the UK has stopped allowing foreign students to bring dependents, there are numerous other nations that have a different stand on it.

Canada, for instance, is proactive in its efforts to welcome immigrants, with an annual target of over 460,000 newcomers to bolster the economy, reunite families, and offer refuge to those in need. This commitment is reflected in its immigration levels plan, which outlines increasing numbers of new permanent residents over the coming years.

Germany also extends a welcoming hand through its dependent visa, facilitating family reunions for spouses, children, and other relatives of residents. Similarly, New Zealand offers a dependent child student visa, affording children the opportunity to join their parents and receive education at primary or secondary schools without tuition fees.

Australia likewise provides avenues for family members of citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens to reside and work in the country through its dependent visa. Denmark, with its green card Dependent visa and Student Dependent Visa, facilitates family integration for foreign nationals residing and studying within its borders.

In Finland, a streamlined visa application process has resulted in shorter processing times for residence permits, enhancing accessibility for families seeking to join their relatives.

Also, Estonia extends the opportunity for family members of students to apply for family visas, enabling them to accompany their loved ones for up to a year. Meanwhile, Sweden, a highly developed nation, offers various permits tailored to accommodate the needs of individuals seeking to bring their dependents, reflecting its commitment to inclusivity and support for family unity.

To enjoy the benefits of these dependent visa programs and family reunification policies offered by countries like Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, and Sweden, individuals should follow these general steps:

1. Research and Choose a Country: Explore the immigration policies and dependent visa options of each country mentioned to determine which best suits your needs and circumstances.

2. Understand Eligibility Criteria: Familiarize yourself with the eligibility requirements for the specific dependent visa you intend to apply for, such as relationship status, financial dependence, and age restrictions for dependent children.

3. Prepare Documentation: Gather all necessary documentation, such as passports, marriage certificates, birth certificates, proof of relationship, financial statements, and any other required paperwork.

4. Submit Application: Complete and submit the visa application form along with the supporting documents to the respective immigration authorities of the chosen country. Ensure accuracy and completeness to avoid delays or rejection.

5. Attend Interviews (if required): Some countries may require applicants to attend interviews as part of the visa application process. Be prepared to provide additional information or clarify any details during the interview.

6. Wait for Processing: Allow sufficient time for the visa application to be processed. Processing times may vary depending on the country and the specific visa category.

7. Receive Approval: Upon approval of the dependent visa application, you and your family members will receive the necessary permits to join or reunite with your loved ones in the host country.

8. Fulfill Residency Requirements: Comply with any residency requirements or conditions attached to the dependent visa, such as maintaining legal status, renewing permits, and adhering to local laws and regulations.

9. Access Benefits: Once in the host country, take advantage of the benefits provided by the dependent visa program, such as the opportunity to work, study, access healthcare, and enjoy social services available to residents.

10. Integrate and Contribute: Embrace the new environment, culture, and community, and actively contribute to society through work, education, volunteering, or other means, enriching your experience and fostering a sense of belonging.

These are viable options you can explore.
