From Hollywood spectacles to deeply personal dramas rooted in Africa, this year’s cinematic slate reflects a growing appetite for stories that are both entertaining and thought-provoking.
Leading the charge is 28 Years Later:
The Bone Temple, a chilling continuation of the franchise first ignited by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland. Now directed by Nia DaCosta, the film pushes beyond traditional zombie tropes, blending horror with British cultural commentary and an eccentric narrative style. Critics are already describing it as a daring evolution of the apocalypse genre.
In a sullen but equally powerful corner of cinema, My Father’s Shadow brings African storytelling into global focus.
