The 2025 Prof. Akin Oyebode Cup, Ekiti State’s premier grassroots youth football tournament, enters its decisive third round this week, with all matches set to be played at the Ikole Township Stadium on Wednesday, February 4, and Thursday, February 5, 2026.
The fixtures will determine which teams advance to the knockout stages, setting the stage for high drama across all groups in this fourth edition of the competition, which is dedicated to honoring the legacy of the esteemed legal scholar and former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Akin Oyebode.
In Group A, the clash between Ikole and Ido/Osi, both on 4 points, is pivotal, while Ekiti East, with 2 points, faces a must-win match against Moba to keep their qualification hopes alive.
Group B leaders Irepodun/Ifelodun, with a perfect 6 points, aim to maintain their flawless record against Emure, while Aiyekire seeks a crucial victory over the already-eliminated Ilejemeje.
In Group C, the defending champions Oye Youth Team have already qualified with 6 points but face a motivated Ijero side, which must win and rely on other results to advance.
