The National Youth Stakeholders Forum (NYSF) has been formally established as a unifying platform for socio-cultural, political, and economic youth organizations in Nigeria.
With a vision to champion youth inclusion, development, and national progress, the NYSF is set to coordinate activities across Nigeria’s 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and the Diaspora.
Designed to harmonize efforts among youth groups, the NYSF seeks to promote unity and amplify the voices of young Nigerians. The forum will also act as an umbrella organization for civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, and indigenous youth groups.
Its mission is to enhance collaboration, ensure active youth participation in governance, and foster national cohesion.
The NYSF has constituted a 37-member National Executive Council (NEC) to oversee its operations. The council is led by Ambassador Auwal Musa Muhammad as National Chairman, with Amb. Dr. Duke Alamboye as Vice Chairman and Aare Oladotun Hassan Esq. as Secretary-General. Other executives include representatives from all geopolitical zones, ensuring inclusivity and national representation.
Speaking on the forum’s objectives, the Publicity Secretary, Rt. Hon. Rikki Nwajiofor, emphasized that the NYSF aims to promote peace, unity, and good governance while prioritizing the welfare of its members. He highlighted the forum’s commitment to registering and administratively managing youth groups nationwide to create a cohesive network driving sustainable development.
As part of its launch, the NYSF will inaugurate its National Executive Council members and unveil its National Secretariat on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
The event, expected to be a milestone in youth leadership, will host dignitaries including the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR, and Hon. Ayodele Olawande, Minister of Youth Development.
Other notable attendees include FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, and Hon. Dr. Titilope Gbadamosi, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth Initiatives. The ceremony will underscore the forum’s readiness to lead youth-oriented initiatives across the nation.
The NYSF’s motto, “Nigeria! For the Common Good of All of Us,” reflects its focus on promoting inter-religious, inter-ethnic, and political cooperation for harmonious coexistence. It also pledges to advocate for the democratic inclusion of young Nigerians in decision-making processes at all levels of government.
Recall that in December 2024, the NYSF began establishing structures to address the socio-economic and political challenges faced by Nigerian youth. The forum’s directors have been tasked with mobilization, strategy development, and strengthening ties among affiliated organizations nationwide.
Calling on Nigerian youth to support the initiative, the NYSF urged stakeholders to embrace its transformative agenda. The forum assured that its leadership is poised to address critical issues, foster unity, and ensure the effective implementation of programs for the common good of all Nigerians.
