YouTube sensation turned professional boxer Jake Paul will step into the ring on Friday night to face former two-time heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua in Miami.
The event, broadcast globally on Netflix, sees Paul attempting what most consider a mission improbable: defeating one of the most formidable heavyweights of his generation. Joshua, 36, is a heavy favourite and is widely expected to end the contest by knockout within the opening rounds.
The bout has been sanctioned as a professional contest by the Florida Athletic Commission and will be contested over three eight-minute rounds, a format raising eyebrows among purists. Both fighters will wear standard 10oz heavyweight gloves, and knockouts are permitted.
The main card begins at 01:00 UK time on Saturday, with the ring walks for the headline bout expected around 03:30. The undercard features Caroline Dubois defending her world title.

Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) brings a résumé filled with elite names: Oleksandr Usyk, Wladimir Klitschko, and Daniel Dubois among them. Standing 6ft 6in with an 82-inch reach, he holds a significant physical advantage over Paul, who is 6ft 1in with a 76-inch reach.
Paul (10-1, 7 KOs) enters with momentum, having won six straight fights since his sole loss to Tommy Fury. His victories include names from the UFC and boxing, most notably a decision over former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Yet he has never faced an active, world-class heavyweight in his prime.
Weight and Stipulations
A notable condition has been imposed: Joshua must not exceed 17st 7lb (111kg) at the weigh-in, a concession to Paul, who has spent much of his career at cruiserweight. Whether this will impact Joshua’s power remains a key question.
