Popular politician and entrepreneur, Engineer Henrich Bankole Akomolafe has joined the rest of the world to celebrate the invaluable contributions of women and girls across the globe on the occasion of the 2026 International Women’s Day.
In a short statement to address the theme around this year’s global observance: “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls”, Akomolafe emphasized the importance of dignity, equality, and societal support for women.
He called on communities to not only acknowledge these values but to actively champion them in everyday life.
“Today, I celebrate the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women and girls everywhere,” Akomolafe stated. “This year’s theme reminds us that every woman deserves dignity, equal rights, and a society that stands up and acts in her defence.”
He further urged collective action toward building a world where every woman and girl has the opportunity to thrive, free from discrimination and harm.
The message resonates with global recognition of the role of men in advocating for gender equality and supporting the rights of women not just on International Women’s Day, but every day.
As the world marked March 8, 2026, with various events and campaigns, Akomolafe’s words serve as a reminder that the journey toward gender equality requires the commitment of all members of society.
