It’s an opportunity for young, open-minded Nigerians courtesy of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria.
The delegation has announced a six-month traineeship programme for young Nigerian graduates seeking experience in international relations and diplomacy.
According to a notice published on Thursday, the traineeship will be hosted within the Political, Press and Information Section of the delegation.
The programme is expected to begin in July 2026, with applications scheduled to close on May 8, 2026.
The delegation said the initiative is designed to provide participants with practical exposure to the workings of a diplomatic mission and how the European Union advances its interests and values in Nigeria.
Selected candidates will take part in drafting reports on political developments, human rights, economic trends and regional issues, as well as other policy areas relevant to EU engagement.
They will also support the section in organising meetings, preparing minutes, handling communication tasks and assisting with public diplomacy events.
In addition, trainees will be involved in preparations for official visits from the European External Action Service and other European Union institutions.
The programme offers an opportunity for young professionals to gain hands-on experience in diplomacy and policy analysis within an international setting.
