Global Protests Erupt Over U.S. Strike on Iranian Nuclear Facilities

A wave of international protests has erupted following President Donald Trump’s decision to authorize a military strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

From the streets of Paris to Islamabad, Athens to Manila, demonstrators gathered over the weekend to voice outrage over the U.S. action, calling it reckless and a threat to global stability.

The protests drew crowds of peace activists, civil society groups, and citizens alarmed by the rising tensions in the Middle East.

In France, hundreds marched through central Paris, waving placards that read “Stop the War” and “Diplomacy, Not Bombs.” Similar scenes played out in Greece, where demonstrators chanted slogans outside the U.S. Embassy in Athens, demanding an end to what they called “imperialist aggression.”

In Pakistan, where anti-U.S. sentiment has surged in recent years, thousands filled the streets of major cities, with some burning American flags and effigies of President Trump. Protest leaders accused the U.S. of destabilizing the region and dragging the world closer to another full-scale war.

Also, activists in the Philippines staged coordinated rallies across Manila, linking the strike to broader concerns about U.S. military presence in the Asia-Pacific region. “We reject war and militarism,” one speaker told a crowd outside the U.S. Embassy. “This attack threatens millions of lives far beyond the Middle East.”

While the White House has defended the strike as a necessary measure to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, critics say it risks inflaming regional tensions and undermining diplomatic efforts.

However, The United Nations has called for restraint from all parties, while world leaders, including from the EU and China, have urged both Washington and Tehran to avoid further military confrontation.
