The Governing Council, Ekiti State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti has approved full implementation of the new minimum wage for Staff of the Institution.
Arising from an emergency meeting held on Thursday, 30th January, 2025, the Governing Council, led by Dr. Oluwafemi Thomas maintained that it had become imperative to implement the new minimum wage, considering the genuine interest of the Council and the Management in Workers’ welfare.
While noting that the Institution is not financially buoyant, Dr. Thomas assured that the Council would, in collaboration with the Management, strive towards strengthening the Institution’s revenue base.
He further expressed gratitude to Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his cabinet for being supportive of the Institution’s yearnings and aspirations, especially her quest for transmutation into a Polytechnic.
Meanwhile, the College Governing Council has urged Staff to reciprocate the kind gesture by remaining diligent and committed to their duties, noting that the decision to commence implementation of the new minimum wage was tough, considering the College’s meagre resources.
