Kunle Ajayi….
After Archbishop Matthew Kukah of the Sokoto Diocese criticized President Bola Tinubu for being “unprepared” for leadership, a former Ondo State governorship candidate under the African Action Congress (AAC), Kunle Ajayi, fired back in an opinion piece.
…….
Bishop Matthew Kukah and some others are non-state actors indirectly working for the state. They are pseudo-activists who claim to stand with the people.
Yet again, the legendary political Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah, has stated that both former President Muhammadu Buhari and current President Bola Tinubu were and are not prepared for governance and leadership. Whatever the Bishop means, he must stop confusing and distracting Nigerians!
Buhari, aside from being a former military president, contested three times before winning the fourth time. The same Buhari formed a whole political party before merging it to form the All Progressives Congress (APC). Tinubu was a Senator in 1993, ran abroad after his leader MKO Abiola was incarcerated, and came back after his death to become Lagos State governor in 1999. Tinubu was governor for eight (8) solid years and was so powerful that he controls the Lagos State government to date. How can any sane person now tell us these two are “unprepared” to be president?
The real issues are that both Buhari and Tinubu are reactionary and anti-people elements. They were well prepared to come, steal, and destroy like the thief in the night. They were prepared to remove fuel subsidies, destroy and privatize NNPC, hike food prices, and skyrocket inflation. Buhari and Tinubu were prepared to devalue the Naira, just as they have reduced the purchasing power of an average Nigerian.
Bishop Matthew Kukah and some others are non-state actors indirectly working for the state. They are pseudo-activists who claim to stand with the people. So, all they do is shout irrelevant issues and get on the front pages of national dailies. Their reductionism is a recipe for confusing and distracting the people. What Nigerians must do is stop listening to them. Let’s start preparing to chase away Tinubu and the likes. Whether they are prepared or not is not an excuse. What we are concerned about is the consequences of the wicked actions they have taken against the people.
Nigerians must start uniting to #EndBadGovernance at all levels. Any excuse of unpreparedness is complete balderdash, and those shouting the same are agents of the ruling class. Not once has Kukah, who has been the Secretary of the National Peace Accord, brought peace anywhere in Nigeria.
It’s time to call a spade a spade!
