Brit Transport Launches in Lagos to Revolutionize Nigerian Travel

A newly launched multifaceted transportation company in Lagos, Brit Transport aims to transform travel across Nigeria by offering flexible schedules, seamless convenience, and personalized services. The company, which provides car hiring, bus leasing, and interstate transportation, seeks to address the shortcomings of the current road transport sector.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Bright Chimezie, Group Managing Director, said, “Brit Transport was inspired by the need for flexibility, innovation, and affordability in Nigeria’s transportation sector.”

He added that while the company is starting with road transportation, it plans to expand to other forms of travel, including rail, water, and air, in the near future.

Brit Transport is an offshoot of Brit Properties, a land and investment firm in Lagos also founded by Dr. Chimezie.

Leveraging insights from the real estate sector, Dr. Chimezie intends to bring the same standard of excellence to the transportation business. “The excellence we have exhibited in real estate is what we will also be bringing to the transportation sector. We aim to modernize transportation in Nigeria with unparalleled quality,” he noted.

The road transportation business in Nigeria faces several challenges, including inconsistent pricing, poor health and safety standards, lack of operational standards, and weak customer communication. With these issues in mind, Brit Transport is positioning itself as a solution by prioritizing safety, comfort, and efficiency—all at affordable rates.

Group Head of Brit Transport,Mr. Chinedu Chukwu spoke about the company’s focus on innovation and customer satisfaction: “Our intention is to give maximum value to our customers. We offer safety, comfort, and efficiency without compromising affordability. Our buses are equipped with WiFi and televisions to provide comfort over long distances,” he said.

The company’s initial interstate transport services will connect Lagos to major regions like the South-East, South-South, and North-Central areas, with plans to expand further. The firm also intends to open multiple terminals across Lagos and eventually all over Nigeria.

Emphasizing the company’s commitment to serving the public, Mr. Emmanuel Aiyepada, Head of Corporate Communications, said, “Brit Transport is entering the market with a sensitivity to the people’s plight, especially given the current state of the economy. Transportation is a basic need, and our brand is defined by its commitment to the needs of the people.”
