Yorubas have the saying that “Agba ki wa loja, ki ori omo titun o wo.” (Translation: Where an elders is in the market, the head of a baby on her mother’s back should not be slanted.
You would recall that year 2024 NRA examination was recently conducted in Ekiti State, where some atrocities was perpetrated by Acting Chairman, Onilearo Kayode and Secretary Adegoke Olusola.
Those concerned say the duo conspired to registered referees against the rules of engagement of NRA Exam committee.
Despite various observations and our reservation in the time past, as a activities monitoring, we the concerned stakeholders under the leadership of our leader, Michael Stephen has vowed not to remain silent on issues that bothers the referees council especially ones capable of sending the council to dark ages, this is why we will be making this big revelation with pictorial evidence and it is our wish that the issues must not be swept under the carpet.
Firstly, kudos to the intelligence and efforts of the supervisor during this NRA exams, for his tenacity and his uncompromising traits during the NRA promotion Exams.
However it has come to our notice that the Ekiti referees council dubiously and deliberately registered Adegoke marvelous Ayokunle Grade 2 referee for NRA exams in year 2024, who had already passed same NRA exams Grade 2 in year 2023 to deceived NRA exams committee so as to impersonate for his brother who wrote NRA exam in year 2023 but failed same exam.
It was discovered that Adegoke marvelous Ayokunle (MALE) who passed NRA exam last year 2023 was registered this year 2024 as female Referee so as to deceived NRA exams committee to impersonate for his brother Adegoke prosperity Ayomiposi and Son of council secretary(Mr Adegoke Olusola).
The culprits were also caught registered one Male Referee (Adebayo Segun grade3 referee) who wrote NRA exam last year 2023 and they also registered him for 2024 NRA exam but he was disqualified by exam committee for not attached any document with his registration form.
It will be pertinent to noted after some buzz and intelligence, we the concerned stakeholders made our findings and we discovered that All these acts were perpetrated by the acting Chairman of Ekiti Referees leadership headed by Onilearo Ayodele Kayode and Secretary, Adegoke Olusola Clement and we would like to point at this stage that asides the impersonation committed here, no one is ignorant of what the rule book states about the NRA exams
“That MALE Referees will write NRA exam every two years while FEMALE Referees will write exam every year”
But despite that it is sad that the law was bent here by the set of people that are supposed to lay good precedents. This shameful act has caused great embarrassment to Ekiti referees council.
It is on this note that the concerned stakeholders took the decision to write this to point the attention of the NRA leadership to this action capable of debasing the good name of NRA if not properly checked.
Concerned stakeholders are therefore calling on the NRA national body to intervene and applied necessary sanction before things get out of hand and we recommend that based on these atrocities committed by the culprits, as it contravenes the extant rules of the NRA STATUTE, stringent measures should be taken.
This actions in them aiding and abetting unethical acts of impersonation and examination malpractice is regarded as serious Misconduct as stated in Article 32, section 2 of Nigeria Referees Association (NRA) STATUTE.
This has caused great embarrassment to the entire football ecosystem in Ekiti and Nigeria.
In view of the foregoing,we are calling for their SUSPENSION from Referees and Football-related activities, in line with Article 32, section 3(c) of Nigeria Referees Association NRA STATUTE.
