Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji and his deputy, Chief Monisade Afuye, on Tuesday welcomed former House of Representatives candidate, Engr. Henrich Akomolafe, to the Governor’s Office in Ado-Ekiti.
The visit came days after Akomolafe publicly declared his support for Oyebanji’s re-election bid ahead of the June 20 governorship poll.
Speaking during the meeting, Akomolafe expressed optimism about the governor’s prospects, citing his leadership style, developmental strides and commitment to grassroots engagement as factors that would resonate with voters.
He described Oyebanji as a people-oriented leader whose administration has recorded visible achievements across key sectors, adding that such milestones would strengthen his appeal at the ballot.
Pledging to mobilise support across the state, Akomolafe assured the governor of his readiness to rally his followers and other stakeholders to ensure victory in the forthcoming election.
He also commended Oyebanji for what he called efforts to foster unity among Ekiti indigenes, irrespective of political differences, describing the governor as a unifying figure dedicated to the overall progress of the state.
